OCTOBER-1^ST. : BLOOD DONATION DAY.

We have done this program along with Red Cross society and lions club.

ABOUT 30 doctors were participated in this “blood donation & awareness program”.

65 units of blood was collected from various sections of people especially from students of st.ann’s college. Our IMA members assured every donor of free medical treatment whenever they need.

Our branch president dr.ch.srinivasa raju promised to extend help for buying cell component separator in collaboration with lions club and red cross society.

☺Awareness program was well attended and 70% of them donated blood.

We have conducted a walk in protest of rampant mushrooming of quacks and to rise the public awareness against the RMP & PMP’s.

We have also submitted a memorandum to both collector & S.P. of police, to implement the high court order. They responded positively.

After the installation of new team of office bearers, we have an interactive session with all the hon. guests about- - -control of quacks, attacks on hospitals& doctors, stopping the arrest of doctors under the section 304 & 304-A.

THESE DELIBERATIONS YIELDED POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM D.I.G. of police and he promised to look in to this matter urgently and he promised to control the quacks .

October 10^th. World mental health day :

In view of the “world mental health day”, our IMA conducted an “awareness program” by distributing the pamphlets and organizing a show to dispel the superstitions, disbeliefs in the public.

Venue: govt.ITI college-eluru.

We have conducted health camp for the mentally retarded children and distributed fruits, sweets along with necessary medicines.

We also printed 10000 pamphlets to propagate public awareness about mental diseases and age old superstitions.

☼Our president attended west godavari medical representative association meeting as a speaker on the topic- “drug pricing in India and control of spurious drugs” ,and he also requested the medical representatives “not to visit or entertain the quacks, RMP AND PMP’S for their marketing”.

16-10-07: WORLD FOOD DAY.

our members dispensing the free medicines, rice & eggs.

Our eluru branch donated rice, eggs, vegetables, clothes to 50 poor families in suburbs of eluru.(nakkala colony). We have also dispensed deworming tabs, micronutrients to all poor people of that colony. Our president dr.c.srinivasa raju donated required rice for this program.

17-10-07: memorandum against quacks : AS THE quacks are mushrooming all over the west godavari dt. Our branch president dr.c.srinivasa raju submitted a memorandum to minister for irrigation sri.maganti.BABU and got the positive response from him to direct the authorities to implement the A.P. high court order.

Quackery is one major hurdle in the chain of quality health care system, that should be tackled at national level with central IMA as front leader pursuing at different platforms.

Our branch president dr.c.srinivasa raju submitted a memorandum to eluru M.L.A. sri.alla .Naani and eluru corporation mayor K.BABU RAO to reduce the hiked property tax on hospital buildings and got the positive response.

The mayor promised to reduce the hiked tax for our association’s building with immediate effect.

Actually our state govt. increased the property tax on commercial buildings in all 108 muncipalities and they included all hospital buildings in commercial category.

Our state IMA has to look into this matter.

SPORTS WEEK : INAUGURATED BY DR.M.A.PADMANABHAM, at indoor stadium on 28-10-07 ,which is well attended by our members.

NOVEMBER-2007:

T-20 CRICKET MATCH WAS PLAYED BETWEEN IMA-XI Vs ASRAM medical college - XI at ASRAM medical college CRICKET GROUND on 4-11-07.

11-11-07: our branch president dr.c.srinivasa raju and secretary dr.v.hema Chandra and SWC member dr.j.sanjeevi participated in the state IMA’s RNTCP workshop at kakinada.

Our president dr.c.srinivasa raju has been appointed as west godavari dt.coordinator for this prestigious program which is funded by global fund for AIDS,TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIA.( GFATM) and will be implemented jointly by state T.B. cell and IMA T.B. CELL.

13-11-07: EXECUTIVE BODY MEET: important issues like service programs were discussed.

14-11-07: on the eve of world diabetic day..

ALMOST 300 PATIENTS WERE SCREENED BY TESTING FOR RANDOM BLOOD SUGAR. ITS AMAZING TO NOTE THAT ABOUT 30% PATIENTS WERE DIAGNOSED POSITIVE FOR DIABETES. WE STARTED TRETMENT WITH COUNSELLING.

20-11-07: our association conducted an awareness program ( BEWARE OF FAKE DOCTORS ) against quacks & quackery in the district libriory on the eve of national library celebrations.

1-12-07: WORLD AIDS DAY:

10A.M.: RALLY organized by IMA-ELURU along with state AIDS control office.

We have conducted quiz program in st.joseph dental college for students and internees.

2-12-07: garden party (kartika vana bhojanam): 100 members were participated actively in this traditional & auspicious “vanabhojana mahotsav” and enjoyed the games ,and delighted with sumptuous food.

3-12-07: world disabled day:

we have visited” parivartana” an NGO organized deaf&dumb rehabitation center and medicines were distributed after examined all the inmates for all diseases.

5-12-07: MEGA-HEALTH CAMP - - - PARTICIPATION of our branch in the mega health camp under the “arogya sri” project elicited enormous response from the people in & around the eluru mandal.

About 10000 patients were screened for vital organ diseases.

Our members along with other PHC doctors( total doctors participated are 100 ) examined the patients and referred the cardiac, neuro, nephro, oncology ,congenital deafness cases to the net work hospitals authenticated by the A.P.GOVT.& STAR HEALTH INSURANCE company.

Never before in the history of eluru, this type of mega health camp was conducted.

Not only that, first time, our west godavari collector wrote an appreciation letter to our president, for delivering our services in this mega health camp.

8-12-07: IMA- GFATM- RNTCP- PPM PROJECT. :

52 DOCTORS WERE attended for this prestigious program sponsored CME on “sensitization of physicians on RNTCP-DOTs”.

It’s a clear cut achievement of our IMA as largest NGO by acting in collaboration with global fund organization.

In fact our branch president dr.c.srinivasa raju incidentally our west godavari dt. Coordinator for this project, strives hard to motivate all the remaining branches of our dt. to participate actively in this project.

15-12-07 : Emergency press meet & a rally conducted to announce our strong opposition to the atrocities on doctors & hospitals and declaration of strike if the promulgation of ordinance to book non-bailable cases against the culprits by govt. doesn’t come with in two days.

Happily, our state govt. brings an ordinance and assured the doctors by appointing police pickets in all medical teaching institutions and big hospitals to provide protection to the medical fraternity.

It’s a great victory for our IMA and other sister organizations- APGDA ,APJUDA.

22-12-07: “A FINANCIAL AWARENESS PROGRAM & service camp”:

at 2P.M. : SCREENING CAMP FOR DEFECTIVE HEARING SCHOOL children of Z.P.HIGH SCHOOL at denduluru and medicines dispensed freely and also an awareness program to prevent the early on set deaf ness and gave right advise at right time to congenital deaf children.

At 8.30 P.M. : “PROFITABLE INVESTMENT AVENUES” --- WELL attended and superbly enlightened by the eminent wealth management expert .

Lobbying with beurocrats and political leaders is one right step that would yield better results for the well being of our medical fraternity.

5^th. & 6^th. January : our president and secretary dr.c.srinivasa raju and dr.v.hema Chandra along with 30 doctors of our branch were attended – “RAMCOSA VIII th. Alumni reunion & golden jubilee function of “Rangaraya medical college- kakinada” as old students of that college.

6-1-08: CME program on RNTCP-DOTS- a sensitization program for private physicians, sponsored jointly by IMA-GFATM.

50 doctors were attended 20 members were signed on letter of agreement to join in scheme-1 & 2.

7-1-08: FREE HEALTH CAMP AT PARIVARTAN- A HOME FOR DEAF MUTE CHILDREN.- Our president dr.c.srinivasa raju along with dermatologist dr.subba rao and paediatrician dr.g.v.ramiah examined 100 deafmute children and dispensed needy medicines freely.

Some deaf mute children in cheerful mood after an interaction with our doctors.

9-1-08: our president dr.c.srinivasa raju ,attended the A.P.MEDICAL COUNCIL MEET AT HYDERABAD ON 9-1-08 as member of the A.P.MEDICAL council finance committee.

13^th. & 14^th. : makara sankranthi- pongal celebrations in our IMA heralded with bhogi mantalu followed by sumptuous dinner and other festivities.

17-1-08: felicitation to senior doctor and octgenerian dr.v.paratpara rao on completion of 50 years in private practice and in healthcare service.

19-1-08: morning session FROM 10 A.M. -- - - breast cancer screening camp : about 160 patients were examined and 36 cases were identified with adenoma breast and advised to have further evaluation& treatment .

Feb- 2008 :

3-2-08: sensitization of private physicians regarding RNTCP /DOTS. As a part of our IMA’s prestigious project our branch president , also as the west godavari dt. coordinator of IMA-GFATM-RNTCP-PPM- has organized program in our branch.

5-2-08: MEGA FREE SURGICAL CAMP : about 200 patients were screened and 45 cases were identified for surgical intervention and those cases were investigated thoroughly.

After that, our members dr.k.visweswar rao and satya vedam and dr.c.srinivasa raju have done relevant surgeries freely.

The investigations were done freely by dr.r.naga rau & dr.r.s.r.k.vara Prasad of eluru diagnostic center.

17-2-08 : ELURU- IMA CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS :

OUR traditional cultural festival started with a bang and all our members with their family members enjoyed to the brim of their heart.

March-08:

9-3-08:

• 10a.m. blood donation camp at our IMA hall : about 10 units of blood was donated by employees of Gupta foundation-ELURU ,which was handed over to red cross society-west godavari dt.
• 11a.m. screening health camp for sickle cell & thalassemia disorders: about 50 patients,especially couple with the history of consanguineous marriage, missed carriage etc… .

The screening is collaborated with thalassemia foundation- Hyderabad.

· 2P.M. : AWARENESS PROGRAM ON THALASSEMIA to doctors, media and common people – to highlight the importance of blood screening examination to all pregnant couple , persons in the marriage age group- to know the carrier /disease status and thus preventing these dreaded genetical diseases.

· 16-3-08 : state working committee meet of A.P. STATE.- our president dr.c.srinivasa raju along with dr.sanjeevi,dr.hema Chandra attended this on board SWC meet on godavari river.

18-3-08: RNTCP program at ASRAM college:

23-3-08: district RNTCP training convention: our branch president dr.c.srinivasa raju as a west godavari dt. coordinator of IMA-GFATM-RNTCP-PPM , organized district convention to train private physicians regarding DOTS against T.B.

· 24-3-08: in view of WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY ,our branch conducted a rally and doctors meet –to highlight the importance of prevention& eradication of T.B. by adhering to RNTCP protocols and DOTS . Doctors and general public were attended.

· 25-3-08: “school children deafness prevention & awareness program” was conducted for all school headmasters of pedapadu mandal to initiate them to screen problematic hearing children to refer them to our eluru- IMA sponsored ( joint collaborative program with rural health foundation ) deafness control center in the mandal headquarters- pedapadu.

Prestigious joint program between rural health foundation and IMA-ELURU,for which we have entered in to MOu to maintain the referral center and deafness control center in the rural area of pedapadu mandalam.

30-3-08:

10a.m. : health camp to screen pediatric congenital heart diseases with the collaboration of innova children heart hospital. The camp was inaugurated by eluru corporation mayor sri.K.BABU RAO and is well attended by local people leaders who had helped to mobilize the cases to the camp. Almost 135 patients were screened and 35 cases were identified with CHD. ALL THESE surgery cases were refered to that hospital to conduct free surgeries under arogya sri project.

8p.m. : CME program on – “pediatric heart ailments and catheterization techniques in congenital heart diseases” was conducted. .

Dr.k.samba murty,who has credited with number of paper publications and various cardiac procedural innovations to his name, enlightened the doctors, about the importance of congenital heart disease management and exclusive children”s cardiac center.

we thank every leader of the IMA for their unstinted commitment and leadership in obtaining the “medical protection act” and we also hope that the same spirit and fight would eradicate the quacks & quackery.
