Indian Medical Association -HEADQUARTERS ,has launched the National Professional Protection Scheme to help its members. The scheme protects its members
from any kind of litigation during their professional practice.
The scheme will look after any Civil, Criminal, Consumer or similar cases
rising out of members Medical Practice and will fight the case up to
the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission and Supreme Court.

This provides an atmosphere to practice Modern Medicine without fear.
The National Professional Protection Scheme is unique in the way that
a member gets protection up to Rs. 5 lakhs for a single case and up to
maximum of Rs. 10 lakhs for more than one case in a year.

The member can take multiple units and the claim amount shall be proportionate to
the number of units taken by the member. Moreover the scheme provides
these benefits for a very nominal membership fee when compared to the
other indemnity schemes of other insurance companies.

The first year membership fee is Rs. 3000/- and if there is no claim, the
membership fee decreases by Ra. 100/- every year up to the 6th year to
make it Ra. 2500/- which is a fixed amount if there are no claims.

The National Professional Protection Scheme is functioning with the
Office at IMA State Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala State.
